의사: 안녕하세요, 오늘은 어떤 문제로 오셨나요?

D: Hello, what brings you in today?

P: I’ve been experiencing severe pain in my right knee.

환자: 오른쪽 무릎에 심한 통증이 있어서 왔습니다.

의사: 알겠습니다. 이 통증이 얼마나 오래되었나요?

D: I see. How long have you been having this pain?

P: It started about two weeks ago, but it’s gotten much worse in the last few days.

환자: 약 2주 전부터 시작됐는데, 최근 며칠 동안 훨씬 더 심해졌어요.

의사: 통증을 설명해 주실 수 있나요? 날카로운 통증인가요, 둔한 통증인가요, 아니면 욱신거리는 통증인가요?

D: Can you describe the pain? Is it sharp, dull or throbbing?

P: It’s more of a dull ache most of the time, but when I try to bend my knee, it becomes sharp.

환자: 대부분의 시간에는 둔한 통증이지만, 무릎을 구부리려고 하면 날카로운 통증이 됩니다.

의사: 특정 활동을 할 때 통증이 더 심해지나요?

D: Does the pain worsen with any particular acrtivities?

P: Yes, it hurts more when I’m walking up or down stairs, and after sitting for a long time.

환자: 네, 계단을 오르내릴 때와 오랫동안 앉아 있은 후에 더 아파요.

의사: 무릎에 부종이나 뻣뻣함을 느끼셨나요?

D: Have you noticed any swelling or stiffness in the knee?

P: Yes, it does feel a bit swollen and stiff, especially in the morning.

환자: 네, 약간 부어 있고 뻣뻣한 느낌이 들어요. 특히 아침에 더 그래요.

의사: 알겠습니다. 지금 무릎을 검사해 보겠습니다. 어떤 동작에서 통증이 있으면 말씀해 주세요.

D: Alright. I’m going to examine your knee now. I’ll need you to tell me if any of these movements cause pain.

의사: 증상과 검사 결과를 바탕으로 볼 때, 골관절염일 가능성이 있어 보입니다. 진단을 확인하고 심각도를 확인하기 위해 엑스레이 촬영을 하고 싶습니다.

D: Based on your symptoms and this examination, it seems you might have osteoarthritis. I’d like to order an X-ray confirm the diagnosis and check the severity.

P: Osteoarthritis? Is that serious?

환자: 골관절염이요? 심각한 건가요?

의사: 특히 나이가 들면서 흔히 나타나는 질환입니다. 완치는 불가능하지만 증상을 관리하고 진행을 늦출 수 있는 방법이 많이 있습니다. 엑스레이 결과가 나오면 치료 옵션에 대해 논의하겠습니다.

D: It’s a common condition, especially as we age. While it can’t cured, there are many ways to manage the symptoms and slow its progression. We’ll discuss treatment options once we have the X-ray results.
