진료보는 의사와 환자

의사: 안녕하세요, 오늘은 어떤 문제가 있으신가요?

D: Hello, what seems to be the problem today?

P: I’ve been having severe stomach cramps since yesterday evening.

환자: 어제 저녁부터 심한 위경련이 있어요.

의사: 알겠습니다. 통증을 설명해 주실 수 있나요? 정확히 어디가 아프신가요?

D: I see. Can you describe the pain? Where exactly is it located?

P: It’s a sharp, twisting pain in my upper abdomen. It comes and goes, but when it hits, it’s really intense.

환자: 상복부에 날카롭고 꼬이는 듯한 통증이 있어요. 왔다 갔다 하지만, 통증이 올 때는 정말 심해요.

의사: 구역질, 구토, 또는 배변 습관의 변화가 있었나요?

D: Have you experience any nausea, vomiting, or changes in your bowel movements

P: Yes, I’ve felt nauseous, but haven’t vomited. My stools have been a bit loose.

환자: 네, 구역질은 느꼈지만 구토는 하지 않았어요. 대변이 약간 묽어졌어요.

의사: 최근에 특별히 다른 음식을 드셨거나, 평소보다 스트레스를 많이 받으셨나요?

D: Have you eaten anything unusual recently, or have you been under more stress than usual?

P: Now that you mention it, I had some spicy street food two days ago. And work has been pretty stressful lately.

환자: 말씀하시니 생각나네요. 이틀 전에 매운 길거리 음식을 먹었어요. 그리고 최근 직장에서 스트레스를 많이 받았어요.

의사: 알겠습니다. 복부를 부드럽게 눌러보겠습니다. 통증이나 불편함이 느껴지면 말씀해 주세요.

D: I see. I’m going to gently press on your abdomen. Please let me know if you feel any pain or discomfort.

(진찰 중)

의사: 증상과 검사 결과를 바탕으로, 위염일 가능성이 있어 보입니다. 위염은 위 점막의 염증을 말합니다. 매운 음식과 스트레스가 이를 유발했을 수 있어요.

D: Based on your symptoms and the examination, it seems you may have gastritis, which is inflammation of the stomach lining. The spicy food and stress could have triggered it.

P: Is it serious? What should I do?

환자: 심각한가요? 어떻게 해야 하나요?

의사: 불편하지만 보통 심각하지는 않습니다. 위산을 줄이고 통증을 완화하는 약을 처방해 드리겠습니다. 당분간 매운 음식, 기름진 음식, 알코올을 피하시고, 스트레스 관리를 하시는 것이 좋겠습니다.

D: It’s uncomfortable, but usually not serious. I’ll prescribe some medicaiton to reduce stomach acid and relieve the pain. You should also avoid spicy, fatty foods and alcohol for a while, and try to manage your stres levels.
